Golf in a Coronavirus World

When I started 3 Under Par, I wanted this to be a full stop golf content provider. We have been doing the podcast for over a year now and recently branched out to YouTube where we post full length podcast videos and other miscellaneous videos. The writing content and web was the last part that I wanted to add, partially because I’m a golfer and not a writer. Coronavirus has turned the world upside down and has opened up more time for me to focus on this website.

I honestly have no idea where 3 Under Par will go, but I’m going to make more of an effort to write blogs on a daily basis. That is what this will be… a blog. There’s a good chance you’ll find typos but just go with it; it’s part of the authenticity and gives this blog “character”. There are plenty of other websites with reputable writers who are good at what they do. I’m a washed up college golfer and occasional amateur player with a podcast and website that I pay $99 a year to maintain the domain name. But here’s my promise to you, I will be honest and put down my thoughts. Who knows, this might even catch some traction… we will see.

But golf in a Covid-19 world is very controversial at this point. Many golf courses have taken drastic measures to ensure that people can socially distance. I asked this question on #golfchat the other day on Twitter (which is awesome), “If you aren’t comfortable playing golf during this pandemic, what’s stopping you from playing?”. Some are comfortable playing golf while others aren’t, but I think golf courses should stay open. If someones doesn’t want to play golf then don’t go play. Golf provides tremendous exercise and there’s something to be said about spending time outside. People are itching and desiring to get outside.

I’ll be back tomorrow to update, but I don’t know what I’m going to write about. Sports needs to come back; I know I’m not alone in thinking that. Keep working on those 3-5 footers at home and remember that #littlewhiteballislife.
